After being in the make money online field for more then 2 years now and still growing rapidly, I’ve learned a few things in order to survive and keep on growing here. here are my 5 things you should remember in order to make money online.

Always pay the hosting guy

Whether you have shared, reseller or dedicated web hosting, always have your host’s fees ready and separate by the end of the month, anything you earn after the hosting fee is the profit (as I see it).The only way you can keep on making money online is only possible if your host is alive. Not everything you make is spendable, only a portion of it, which is after the hosting costs. Everything else is spendable except the hosting costs.

Sell out when you think its going good for something that didn’t had a chance

If a site of yours which you never thought or still think would never make it, actually makes it and is earning quite a bit, enough to be considered a major or considerable portion of your total income, then it’s better to sell it off for 10x revenue/month. It’s better to let something go that you think doesn’t have a chance. Usually alot of webmasters make sites that are not what they want to be doign to make money online but they still do it in order to make some passive income. These sites are better off with another owner, the money you earn through this will certainly be put to good use, in your future projects.

Keep an open mind to  offers

If you are selling a product or service,  always keep an open mind on pricing and  other offers that might come by. Sometimes,  people  might not wanna pay the exact price you want but a few dollars less, at the moment it might seem like if you compromise now you’ll have to do it over and over in the long run, but thats not so, see, if you take a few hits like that once in a while you will keep on earning and eventually grow big enough where you won’t have to take such low ball prices. Once in a while you might be approached by either link sellers or site buyers who are willing to pay you a certain amount of money which is obviously less then what you expect, in order to buy the site/product or links on your site, if you are in the game just to collect money through sites that you barely like then this is what you should call a golden moment, selling out to these guys is a perfect way to make some extra cash.

Have more then one payment option

Freelancers or general sellers, no matter who you are, you need an online payment processor to receive payments, the most common option people opt for is obviously paypal but you need to think out of the box here for a while, there are alot of international customers that may not be able to pay through that, so you’ll need to get a more accessible payment processor, the best paypal alternative that i know of is google checkout. Having flexibility in your payment options gives you a more professional look while dealing with all sorts of customers.

Always have a backup plan

If you are going to invest your money into something big at once, more like a final blow to make huge amounts of money (finally) constantly, then you better have a backup plan. My theory is that i only invest 50% of my total balance at the bank, this way even if the project fails i can still build up my bank balance by something, never invest everything you have, if you do then you need a backup plan.
