People really seem to like social networking. Everyday, some new application or product comes out to integrate social networking with the workplace. Fmyi.com is no exception. This site will let you create a social network of sorts for your work group. Each member will have a profile page, through which they’ll interact with other group members. You’ll be able to share information and work material securely, and interact with your workmates in a less distracting manner. Don’t get me wrong, the idea is great, but as more and more of these sites pop up, the less they stand out. But if you overlook that fact, this is a great way for you to get your team working on the same page and communicating more. The site strikes the right balance between private and communal work, it should appeal to anyone who is having a hard time communicating with their workmates.

“fmyi [for my innovation] is an online workspace you can use to bring your team together to store and share information securely with each other.”
| Why it might be a killer | |||
This is another contender in the race to become the best workplace social network. It has the right stuff to at least compete evenly with the other candidates.
| Some questions | |||
Does it have enough unique features to get people interested? Is there enough interest in this type of thing for there to be so many sites that are alike?

| I worked with an intranet with my old sales job, and my computer always seemed to have a problem connecting with it and I had to be in the office to access it. Even when it worked, it was really dry and uninspiring. I quit that and started my own business. 2 years later I needed an internal communication strategy for my employees and found fmyi (fmyi has a sustainability mission. Basecamp doesn't). They do all the work and updates and since it's online, it works where ever I go. That all sounds preachy, but I've NEVER had a problem with it. | ||

| This site can drastically speed up the workflow process. Any spread out team can take advantage of the totally free site and benefit immediately. You can upgrade to get more features too. Even my coworker figured this out quickly (and she is never quick with anything computer related) but it is intuitive and fast as anything! I couldn't email a big file but I can add it to a project and it emails a link of the file. It replaced my shared drive. | ||
